On the 21st of October, activists from Sydney, Mittagong and Canberra gathered outside Tanya Plibersek’s (Federal Minister for the Environment) office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We gathered to represent Aunty Josie from the Burrup Peninsula, to protest the Perdaman Fertiliser and Woodside companies which threaten the erosion of the Murujuga rock art aged over 50,000 years old\u2014older than the pyramids! Over a million artifacts are still visible after all these years, depicting no doubt many animals, fish and birds that are now extinct. It is so important to protect this rock art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A letter was given to the minister outlining our opposition to this ecocide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 22nd of October was the Reunion to Save Mount Nardi 40 years ago, when the then-premier of NSW, Neville Wran, declared the first rainforest in NSW to be saved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gathering was held at the Nimbin Town Hall and was a full house entertained by stories of the protest followed by many musicians and locals that travel the world inspired by our victory in the 80’s and promoting the value of nonviolence and the sensitive and fragile future of forests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
