The Food Co-op community offers our sincere acknowledgement of original and ongoing sovereignty to the Traditional Owners of the lands known-as Canberra and its surrounds, the Ngunnawal/Ngunawal, Ngambri, and Ngarigo peoples, in particular to elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge the rich sovereign traditions of land management, food propagation and harvesting, that have been practised on these lands, sustaining people in vitality for millennia. Our attempt to select products that support the regeneration of land that has been harmed by colonial land practices is one way that we practice this acknowledgement. We deeply value the land we operate on and source our food from. The Food Co-op is committed to developing a First Nations Custodians Solidarity Action Plan with the involvement of First Nations people of the Canberra region to help further the needs and aspirations of First Nations communities in Food Co-op operations.

We invite feedback from First Nations people on all and any of this, and Food Co-op operations more generally.
